MEET THE SHOW · THE CREW
Ryan.
Ryan Wiggins is a co-host of The Annie Frey Show on 97.1 FM Talk, bringing pointed observations, an offbeat sense of humor, and a willingness to take the conversation somewhere nobody expected. He also hosts Wiggins America, where “money, morality & polls, poured over nougat” offers a fitting introduction to his perspective.
His imagination reaches well beyond the radio studio. Ryan spent two seasons as the creator, writer, and host of the national PBS music series Song Stage. He’s also the author of three books: the sci-fi thriller The Life of Human, the absurdist humor collection The Grocery List: Food for Thought, and the horror novel The Swine Things. That mix of storytelling, dark speculation, and bright absurdity helps explain what listeners hear when he turns on the microphone.
Whether he’s discussing the headlines, trading jabs with the crew, or finding an unexpected angle on everyday life, Ryan keeps the conversation—and the people around him—on their toes. He lives in Illinois, where he’s writing the next installment of his planned horror trilogy.
RYAN WIGGINS · AUTHOR
Off the air. On the page.
As a novelist, Ryan moves effortlessly between disparate literary worlds. He is the author of The Life of Human, an intertwined oral history of a primitive AI takeover praised by comedian Michael Ian Black. His comedic portfolio includes The Grocery List: Food for Thought, a collection of absurdist humor endorsed by legendary Saturday Night Live writer Jack Handey. Pivoting into atmospheric cosmic dread, his debut horror novel The Swine Things kicks off an ominous trilogy set in 1907 Ireland—a project that actor Mark Pellegrino noted "put me into a metaphysical tizzy." Whether orchestrating quick-witted banter on the radio or mapping out unstable speculative fiction, Ryan keeps his audience permanently off-balance.
